Privacy policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Effective for Mise. v1.0

Mise. is a calorie and recipe tracker. Your food is your business — this policy explains exactly what data the app handles, where it lives, and what we never do with it.

The short version

Your recipes, pantry, and food log live on your device. We don't run accounts, we don't sell data, and we don't show ads. The only data that leaves your device is what's needed to answer a lookup you asked for.

What data Mise. handles

Stored on your device only:

This data stays in the app's local storage. If you delete the app, it's gone. We can't see it, recover it, or hand it to anyone — because it never reaches us.

Sent off-device only when you use a lookup feature:

Handled by Apple / Google, not by us:

What we don't collect

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand how the app is used (for example, which features are opened most). These metrics are anonymous and can't be tied to you or your food data.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, encryption at rest as provided by iOS). Lookup requests are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Because we don't hold your data on servers, there is no central database of user food logs to breach.

A note on health data

Calorie and nutrition information can be sensitive. Mise. is designed so this information stays under your control, on your device. Mise. is a tracking tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical or dietary advice.

Children

Mise. is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it in the app's release notes and update the date at the top of this page.
